After a rainout Monday evening, Aug. 30, against McCracken County, Massac County’s soccer team opened its 2021 schedule at home against Harrisburg on Tuesday, and the lads put on impressive show for the fans in attendance.

In a well-played, hard fought game, the Patriots put up a 5-2 win over the Bulldogs. Some clever ball-handling and a tight defense had the crowd buzzing.

The Pats broke open a tight 2-1 affair with a second half barrage and held Harrisburg to one more goal for the 5-2 win.

Noah Elliott led the charge for Massac with a “hat trick,” scoring three goals. Eli Quint added a solo goal, and Isaac Hosman scored on a breakaway.

The Patriots showed a lot of potential and a world of athleticism in the win.

The boys are scheduled to tangle with the Pinckneyville Panthers today, Thursday, Sept. 2, at home.
