From Metropolis SuperBowl, league play looked like this.

Last Thursday in the mixed League, Big John and Sully’s Billiards ended the night in a first place tie with both teams owning a four-point lead over KMI and a five-point lead over Sunset Images. Metropolis Big John rolled to a 7-0 sweep over Gene’s Plumbing, and Sunset Images swept the River Rats 7-0. Sully’s scored a 5-2 win over KMI to cause the logjam.

Scoring was at a premium as Clyde Shafer rolled a 565 series to lead the men with Cody Shelton shooting a 538. Vanita Corzine led the way for the women with a 491 series with Kelly Lunsford shooting 453.

Monday night action in the Men’s League saw Sully’s Billiard climb on top with a 5-2 [7-point format] win over Griffey’s HVAC. The Pinheads shut out the Elks 7-0 to ease into second place only one point behind Sully’s. Griffey’s fell two points off the pace.

Scoring was off Monday night as well but a handful of guys managed to get hot. Barry Williams rolled a big 677 series to propel Sully’s and Ricky Griffey [HVAC] just missed a 600 series with a 597. Patrick Harvill shot a 570 to lead the Pinheads.

Tuesday morning had the Ladies League in action and the Fab Three claimed a one-point lead over Sweeney’s Small Engine Repairs and a 3½-point lead over the Sassy Sixties. Phyllis Short rolled a fine 579 for the Queen Pins with Dollie O’Leary shooting 459 for Sweeney’s and Debbie Hileman rolling a 453 for the Sassy Sixties.
