While all the supporters of Vienna High School’s basketball teams can’t be at games in person due to COVID-19 restrictions, the VHS Pep Club is working on a way for them to make their support and presence known in the gym for the season — cardboard cutouts. Through the Pep Club fundraiser, supporters can make a $15 donation via credit card at www.viennahs.com (select the “resources” tab, then the “student/parent resources” link, then the “online payment” link and select the “VHS Pep Club” link under “select one” under “customer information”). Once payment is made, email a well lit, high quality photo of yourself to stephanidborders@viennahighschool.com. Vienna’s basketball season got under way Feb. 2. “Our first night of games went very well, considering a very short notice in order to pull everything together. A debt of gratitude is owed to athletic director David Hill, all of the game workers, coaches, officials and the entire community working together to turn what seemed impossible to success,” said VHS superintendent Joshua W. Stafford. Games can be viewed at www.viennahs.com/live.
